Form Follow Up SLA

A Form Follow Up SLA is a form-specific commitment for how quickly a submission must be actioned: routed to the right owner, contacted, or at minimum confirmed.

It differs from Lead Response Time, a sales-wide metric, by treating form types differently: a demo request may carry a one-business-hour commitment, while a newsletter signup needs only automated confirmation.

The SLA defines what counts as 'actioned,' who owns the clock, and what happens on breach—escalation, reassignment, or a fallback sequence.

A practical example

Example: the policy sets demo forms at a four-business-hour first-contact SLA with escalation to the sales manager on breach, while gated-content forms get a 48-hour follow-up handled by an automated sequence.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Does your platform timestamp submission, routing, and first action separately so SLA measurement is possible?
  • Can SLAs be configured per form type rather than as one global response target?
  • Is there an automatic escalation or reassignment path when a breach occurs, not just a report?

Limitations and tradeoffs

Tight SLAs only hold if routing is reliable; a fast target on a form that misroutes leads creates breaches that no amount of sales urgency can fix.
