Form Segment Policy

A form segment policy is a written rule set for eligibility: which segments may see each form, and which fields or consent options apply per segment.

Where a form intent map tiers by intent, this governs access—for instance, existing customers see feedback forms, not demo requests—and documents segment-specific field requirements like progressive profiling steps.

A practical example

Label: illustrative scenario. A policy states that customers with an active subscription are excluded from demo forms and instead see a support upgrade form that pre-fills account data and asks only two additional fields.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Ask how segment membership is evaluated at form display time—real-time or synced lists.
  • Check whether field requirements can vary by segment without duplicating the form.
  • Verify the policy is reviewable: who signs off changes and how often eligibility is audited.

Limitations and tradeoffs

Segment logic depends on data quality. Stale CRM attributes can show the wrong form to the right person, so the policy needs a defined data-refresh expectation behind it.
