Lead Capture QA Gate

A Lead Capture QA Gate is the executable pre-launch check with sign-off that every capture mechanism must pass before going live.

Acceptance criteria are the written requirements; the gate is the live verification of them: field mappings match the CRM schema, submissions route to the intended owner or queue, spam protection blocks bots without blocking humans, and tracking parameters survive the submission.

It exists because broken capture is usually discovered by lost leads days later.

A practical example

Example: before a chatbot lead form goes live, the reviewer submits a test lead and finds the company name mapping to the phone field; the mapping is corrected before a single real lead is misfiled.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Ask whether the gate requires a live test submission traced through mapping, routing, and CRM arrival—not just a visual form check.
  • Confirm the checklist verifies spam protection behavior with both a bot-like submission and a legitimate one.
  • Check that sign-off names a reviewer and date, so a capture failure after launch has a traceable approval record.

Limitations and tradeoffs

The gate validates the moment of launch; CRM schema changes, form edits, or routing updates afterward can silently break mappings, so schedule re-verification whenever either side changes.
