Marketplace Integration

Marketplace integration connects your store to external sales channels like Amazon or eBay so listings, stock, and orders flow between systems.

The technical work is preserving order identity: each marketplace order must remain traceable to its channel, buyer, and fees after it lands in your back office.

A practical example

Label: example. A home goods brand sells on its own store and two marketplaces.

When an order arrives from a marketplace, the integration must carry the channel name, marketplace order number, and commission data into the fulfillment record.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Ask how the connector maps marketplace SKUs to your internal catalog when IDs differ.
  • Confirm order records retain channel source, marketplace order ID, and fee data end to end.
  • Check how the integration behaves during API outages: does it queue, retry, or silently drop events?

Limitations and tradeoffs

Marketplace APIs impose rate limits and field restrictions, so some channel-specific data may never sync fully and manual reconciliation can remain necessary.
