CTA Value Proposition Map

A CTA Value Proposition Map records the value claim each call-to-action makes and holds that language against the offer and product positioning.

It is the shared reference that copy and product marketing use to confirm the CTA's stated benefit matches what the destination page actually delivers.

A practical example

Example: the map shows a CTA claiming a 'free security audit' actually leads to a gated sales pitch, so copy is rewritten to 'see how our audit works' and the destination adds the promised checklist, restoring message match.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Does each CTA's claim get reviewed against the destination content before launch, not just for grammar?
  • Is there a single maintained document or field where each CTA's approved claim is recorded?
  • Can product marketing flag a claim as retired so dependent CTA copy is updated everywhere it appears?

Limitations and tradeoffs

Claims live in many places—buttons, banners, email links, ads—so the map only holds if CTA creation pulls approved language from it; copy written directly in a page builder will drift from the reference.
