Lead Visibility

Lead Visibility is the outcome question of whether every team can see the same current state, owner, and history for each lead — and trust it.

It covers whether status changes (new, contacted, qualified, rejected) are recorded with timestamps, whether ownership is unambiguous, and whether marketing can see why a lead was rejected instead of just losing it silently.

Broken visibility usually shows up as duplicate outreach, leads stuck in limbo, and teams arguing about whose data is right.

A practical example

Example: marketing notices qualified leads sitting untouched for two weeks; because status history is visible, they can show exactly when each lead was assigned and follow up on the specific ones stalled.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Test whether a lead's full status history, including rejections with reasons, is visible to marketing users.
  • Check for a single unambiguous owner field and a clear rule for what happens on reassignment.
  • Verify sync delays between systems are measurable, so 'visible' means current, not yesterday's state.

Limitations and tradeoffs

Tradeoff: full transparency exposes messy data and rejected-lead reasons that some teams would rather keep private; expect an adjustment period.
