Sync Repair

Sync repair is the deliberate process for correcting records that a completed sync left wrong, missing, or divergent — not simply rerunning the job.

It differs from sync recovery, which restores the pipeline to working order; repair fixes the data the failed run already touched, a distinct and harder task.

After a partial CRM sync, teams must identify affected records and patch them before scoring and routing act on the divergence.

A practical example

Example: a partial sync leaves 900 accounts without owner assignments; the team queries records modified during the failure window, compares them against the source, and patches the missing fields.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Ask whether the platform identifies records affected by a failed or partial run, or whether you must query manually.
  • Verify you can patch affected records in bulk with source-of-truth values, not one by one.
  • Confirm repaired records are logged so downstream teams know what was corrected and when.

Limitations and tradeoffs

Repair depends on knowing the failure window and having a trustworthy source to compare against; if neither exists, divergences may be unidentifiable, which makes prevention and validation more valuable than repair.
