Sync Scheduling

Sync scheduling is the per-object policy that decides how often each record type moves between systems. Real-time sync and batch processing describe transport modes; scheduling is the decision layer on top.

A typical policy runs lead status changes in near real time, activity logs hourly, and historical objects nightly. The tradeoff is freshness versus API quota consumption and load on the source system.

A practical example

Example: a team syncs opportunity stage changes within minutes so sales sees marketing engagement, but syncs campaign history only nightly, keeping the CRM connector well inside its daily API quota.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Can the platform assign a different sync cadence to each object type, not one global interval?
  • Does the connector expose quota usage so you can see how close a schedule runs to limits?
  • Can you change a cadence without rebuilding the integration or pausing other objects?

Limitations and tradeoffs

Tighter schedules consume quota faster and can trigger sync storms during bulk updates; a nightly-heavy policy leaves sales data stale for hours, so no cadence fits every object.
