Demand Capture Offer Map

Demand Capture Offer Map is the operational binding between each capture asset and the commercial offer it promotes, including expiry dates and named successors.

Offer positioning decides what the offer is and why it wins; the offer map is the record of which asset carries which offer, when that offer ends, and what replaces it.

Without it, assets outlive their offers and keep collecting leads that sales cannot fulfill, because the promoted trial, discount, or package no longer exists.

A practical example

A comparison page promotes a legacy onboarding package.

The offer map shows the package expires on a set date with a successor offer, so ops schedules the page update and redirects the asset before the deadline.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Check whether assets and offers can be linked in the platform itself, or whether the map lives in a spreadsheet with no enforcement.
  • Ask if offers support expiry or end dates that can trigger alerts to asset owners before the offer lapses.
  • Test the retirement path: can an asset be updated or redirected in bulk when its offer is replaced, without rebuilding each page?

Limitations and tradeoffs

The map is only as current as its upkeep; if offer changes happen in commercial meetings without updating the map, the record becomes a false source of truth worse than none.
