Demand Capture Intent Map

Demand Capture Intent Map is the classification decision that assigns each capture asset to an intent tier, and each tier to a follow-up treatment: routing destination, response SLA, and nurture track.

It is a standing document, not an observed signal.

Buyer intent signals describe what a buyer does; the intent map decides in advance what each asset type means for your team, so a demo request and a template download never wait in the same queue with the same clock.

A practical example

A team maps its assets into three tiers: demo and pricing requests are tier one with sales routing and a two-hour SLA; gated guides are tier two with an SDR queue; podcast signups are tier three on a nurture track.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Inventory every live capture asset and confirm the platform can tag or segment records by asset so tiers are enforceable in routing rules.
  • Check whether routing and SLA settings can differ per tier without duplicating workflows for each asset individually.
  • Review the map quarterly against actual conversion and meeting rates to test whether tier assignments still reflect real intent.

Limitations and tradeoffs

Tier assignments are internal judgments, not measured facts; a mis-tiered asset either burns sales time on cold leads or starves hot ones, so the map needs scheduled review.
