Lead Capture Intent Map

A lead capture intent map classifies every capture surface by the intent tier it represents—demo request, trial signup, content download—and binds each tier to a defined follow-up: routing destination, response SLA, and nurture track.

It governs the surface itself, not the observed behavior of the lead.

A practical example

Example: a pricing-page chat widget is tiered as high intent with a two-hour response SLA and direct sales routing, while a gated ebook form is tiered as research intent with a five-day nurture sequence and no sales notification.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Can each surface in your tool be tagged with an intent tier that downstream automation reads?
  • Does the platform support tier-specific SLAs or response-time alerts for high-intent surfaces?
  • Can routing and nurture enrollment differ by tier without manual list maintenance?

Limitations and tradeoffs

The tradeoff is maintenance: intent tiers drift as offers change, and a map that is not reviewed quarterly will route new surfaces under stale assumptions.
