Form Freshness Rule

A Form Freshness Rule is a staleness policy that sets how long a form's fields, offer, and routing targets can stay unchanged before mandatory review.

Landing Page Governance covers page-wide standards; this rule zooms into forms specifically, because they fail silently: an expired ebook offer keeps collecting submissions, a field mapping points to a CRM field someone renamed, or a routed owner left the company months ago.

The rule assigns each form a review interval and an owner, so staleness triggers action instead of waiting for a lost-lead complaint.

A practical example

Example: a policy requires every gated-content form to be re-verified quarterly; during a review, ops finds the routing target still points to a marketer who left in the previous quarter and fixes it before the next campaign.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Can your platform report the last-modified date and current routing target for every form?
  • Does the rule define different review intervals for high-stakes forms (demo) versus low-stakes (newsletter)?
  • Is there a named owner per form who receives the review reminder, not a shared inbox?

Limitations and tradeoffs

A cadence adds recurring workload; scope it to forms that route leads or carry offers, and exempt purely decorative embeds to keep the review burden realistic.
