Landing Page Measurement

Landing page measurement is the practice of defining and instrumenting the metrics that judge a landing page's performance: conversion rate against the page's single goal, traffic source quality, scroll and engagement depth, and downstream outcomes such as qualified leads or pipeline influenced.

It goes beyond page views by tying page behavior to funnel results.

A practical example

Example: a webinar registration page is measured not only on form completions, but on the share of registrants who attend and the share who later match the qualified-lead definition.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Confirm the analytics setup can attribute form submissions back to source and campaign without breaks.
  • Check whether you can define custom conversion events matching your page's actual goal, not just generic page views.
  • Verify downstream data, such as lead qualification status, can be joined to page-level data.

Limitations and tradeoffs

Attribution on landing pages shows correlation between visits and outcomes, not proven cause; treat source-level comparisons as directional and validate with controlled tests.
