Lead Nurture

Lead nurture is the coordinated process of building relationship and qualification with prospects who are not yet ready to buy, using progressive content, multi-channel touches and scoring to advance them through the funnel.

Unlike a drip campaign, which is a single email sequence, nurture is a broader strategy that may combine email, retargeting, sales follow-up and content offers, adjusting to each lead's stage and behavior.

A practical example

Example: a prospect downloads a comparison guide and enters nurture: an educational email series, an invitation to a webinar matched to their industry, and a sales task created once their score crosses the qualification threshold.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Ask whether nurture programs can span channels beyond email, such as ads, SMS or sales tasks, from one workflow builder
  • Verify how lead scoring and stage progression integrate with nurture entry and exit rules
  • Check whether nurture content can be personalized by industry, role or segment without duplicating entire programs

Limitations and tradeoffs

Nurture requires sustained content production and clear sales-marketing handoff rules; automation without fresh content and alignment stalls pipelines.
