Account Health Score

An Account Health Score is the ongoing composite model indicating whether an existing account relationship is strengthening or decaying. Signals typically mix product engagement, relationship breadth (how many roles you touch), support activity, and sentiment.

It differs from a post-sale customer health score owned only by CS and from a priority score for new pipeline; this model is shared by sales and CS for renewal risk and expansion timing.

A practical example

Example: an account's score drops after weekly active users fall, a support escalation opens, and the executive sponsor goes quiet — triggering a save play before the renewal window.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Can you configure which signals and weights feed the score, rather than accepting a fixed formula?
  • Does the tool show the signal trend behind score changes, not just the number?
  • Can score thresholds trigger workflows to both CS and the account owner?

Limitations and tradeoffs

Health scores built on engagement data alone miss accounts that use the product but have lost sponsorship; validate the model against known churn cases before trusting it for renewal forecasting.
