Opportunity Priority Score

An Opportunity Priority Score ranks a rep's open deals into a working order for the week.

It combines deal value, close date proximity, risk signals, and engagement recency into a rank, answering a practical question: which deal should I touch first today?

It differs from deal velocity (a speed metric) and from the health score (a condition summary): priority is an ordering for action, not a description.

For reps juggling dozens of deals, the rank must be defensible, so buyers should check how it is computed, how often it refreshes, and where reps actually see it.

A practical example

A rep with 40 open deals opens her CRM Monday and sees a ranked list.

A mid-size deal with a close date ten days out and no buyer activity in three weeks outranks a larger deal closing next quarter, so she calls the at-risk buyer first.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Can the weighting of value, timing, risk, and recency be tuned, or is the ranking a black box?
  • Does the rank refresh on new activity, and does it explain per deal why it sits where it does?
  • Is the ranking surfaced inside the rep's daily workflow, or only in a separate dashboard nobody opens?

Limitations and tradeoffs

A value-weighted rank can bury small deals that are actually winnable this month; prioritization optimizes attention, not outcomes, and needs periodic review.
