Demand Capture Scoring Model

A demand capture scoring model assigns a fixed score weight to each capture asset type, so a demo request contributes more than a checklist download by design.

It is an operational label for a practice teams define internally, not an industry standard. The model sits inside your lead scoring logic but governs only capture conversions.

Weights are agreed with sales so that scores reflect intent, not just activity volume.

A practical example

Label: a team sets demo requests at 30 points, webinar registrations at 15, and template downloads at 5.

A lead who downloads three templates never outranks one who books a demo, because the weights cap low-intent accumulation.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Ask how weights are configured per asset type and whether changing one requires a rebuild of scoring rules.
  • Confirm sales reviewed and signed off on the weight table, and where that agreement is documented.
  • Test whether historical scores are recalculated when weights change, or only future activity is affected.

Limitations and tradeoffs

Weights encode assumptions about intent that can go stale; a quarterly review against sales feedback is a maintenance cost, not a one-time setup.
