Offer Source Ledger

An Offer Source Ledger is the authoritative, queryable registry of every live offer: its owner, hosting location, expiry or review date, and every surface promoting it.

Where a content calendar schedules future production, the ledger is the inventory of what exists now—each offer instance, its bindings to pages, CTAs, and email flows, and its lifecycle status.

Without a registry, offers promoted in orphaned CTAs and stale pages are invisible; the ledger enables offer audits and clean decommissioning across channels.

A practical example

Example: during a rebrand, the team queries the ledger and finds the old ROI calculator still bound to three partner pages and one evergreen email, all retired in one pass.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Can you query the ledger to list every surface currently promoting a given offer?
  • Does each entry name an owner and a lifecycle status, not just a URL?
  • Is there a process for updating the ledger when bindings are added or removed?

Limitations and tradeoffs

Tradeoff: the ledger is only as reliable as its upkeep—teams must decide whether bindings update automatically from the CMS or require manual entry, each with failure modes.
