Account Signal Actionability

Account Signal Actionability is the filter that decides whether a signal can be operationalized at all, given available data, owners, and plays.

Raw intent feeds surface hundreds of topics, but a signal is actionable only if someone owns the response, a play exists, and the data quality supports targeting.

This evaluation differs from cataloging signal types and from assigning signal owners: it prunes the feed itself. Teams use it to decide which signal sources justify spend before purchasing more.

A practical example

Label: example. An intent vendor delivers 40 topics weekly. Review shows the team has plays and owners for six; the rest have no mapped response.

The team disables 34 topics and redirects budget toward a source covering a product line that lacked any signal.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Confirm the platform can suppress or mute individual signal topics rather than forcing full-feed ingestion.
  • Check whether each retained signal can be linked to a specific play and owner inside the tool.
  • Ask for per-topic data quality reporting, such as match rates against your target account list.

Limitations and tradeoffs

Actionability is judged against current plays and staffing, so a signal pruned today may become valuable after a new play launches; re-review the feed quarterly instead of treating pruning as permanent.
