Account Signal Operating Cadence

Account Signal Operating Cadence is the human review rhythm for account signals: how often queues are cleared, when triage happens, and how fast escalations occur. The design question is matching cadence to signal half-life.

A third-party intent spike may stay meaningful for weeks, while a champion leaving the account is urgent within days.

Cadence is usually layered: a daily queue for time-sensitive signals, a weekly triage for lower-urgency ones, and defined escalation timing when an owner does not respond.

A practical example

Example: a team reviews risk and champion-change signals every morning in a 15-minute queue session, and triages intent and engagement signals each Monday, with unactioned daily signals escalating to the manager after 48 hours.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Can the tool sort signal queues by age and urgency, not just by score?
  • Does it support recurring digest or queue views per team?
  • Can escalation rules fire on signal age without manual tracking?

Limitations and tradeoffs

A cadence is a management commitment, not a configuration; automation can age and escalate signals, but skipped review sessions quietly defeat the whole design.
