Account Signal Traceability

Account Signal Traceability is the ability to follow one account-level signal — an intent spike, a third-party topic hit, a website surge — through every stage of your pipeline: vendor ingestion, deduplication, scoring, routing, and the resulting action.

It is signal data lineage, not a log of field edits or system events.

The practical question: when a play fails, can you reconstruct whether the raw signal was wrong, the score misread it, routing dropped it, or the owner never acted?

A practical example

Example: an intent vendor flags an account for a product category. Weeks later the deal is lost.

Traceability would let you replay the chain — signal received, score raised, alert routed to an owner, no activity logged — and identify which link broke.

What to evaluate before investing

  • Ask each vendor whether raw signal payloads are retained and exportable, or only post-score summaries.
  • Test whether you can view the score version and routing decision attached to a specific signal instance.
  • Confirm whether the audit view links the signal ID to the CRM activity it generated.

Limitations and tradeoffs

Traceability depends on every vendor in the chain retaining consistent identifiers; a single system that regenerates IDs breaks the lineage regardless of your tooling.
